Our friend Charlotte Wood-Dobson is going to Africa Aug. 17- Sept. 2 through the organization Watoto, an organization that has exhibited at the Vancouver Island Baby Fair.One of the Watoto villages has requested her group bring underpants for teenaged girls aged 12-18 if possible, so they are reaching out looking for donations of new underpants, or money to buy some, to bring with them.

This is what she told me: "In the Gulu village (a village that rehabilitates child soldiers) the young girls have been wearing the same pair of underwear for the past year. This in turn has caused many of them very painful infections due to the unsanitary state that their bodies have to sit in during their periods."

So I thought I'd buy some underpants for her to bring but thought I'd also put the word out and see if anyone else can help out too. If you can purchase a pair or two of new regular style girls underpants (Size S, M or L) please mail or drop them off to me by July 31st and I will get them to her:

The cheque can be made out to Watoto Canada and please state that the money should go towards Tanya Witzke's Visit Africa Team (Which my friend Charlotte is with) in aid of supplies.
