100% of proceeds from the Photo Contest, Stroller Parking, and Face Painting from the last Victoria event were donated to the Foster Parents Support Services Society. Foster Parent Support Services Society is a grassroots, CARF Accredited, non-profit organization that is committed to providing meaningful and accessible support, education, and networking services for the foster parents of the Vancouver Island Region, which will continually enhance their skills and abilities to deliver the best care possible to the children in their homes.
Contestants make a $10 donation to enter your little one into the Vancouver Island Baby Fair Photo Contest. They have their photo snapped in our professional on-site photo studio and receive a free 5x7 print after the Fair.
Judges determine one winner is each category: 0-24 months old and 2-6 years old.
Also, the winner of the 0-24 month-old category becomes the next poster child for the Vancouver Island Baby Fair!
Our Photo Contest photographer from the Victoria 2009 event was Rebecca Thompson of Rebecca Joy Studios. Rebecca specializes in capturing the fleeting moments of childhood and families with a fresh look, creating images that are forever. A graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr, Canada's premier art university, Rebecca has a passion for photography that has taken her studies and work internationally. Her photo sessions are relaxed and fun, just as memorable as the portraits she creates.
